The 2nd edition of the Handbook of Psychiatry in Palliative Medicine is reviewed. The book should be read by all health professionals with interest in this area. The book covers the cutting edge of science as well as clinical and ethical issues. It also discuses psychotherapy including countertransference as it applies to palliative care.
