When family members move away from each other for a variety of reasons, there can be a disruption in very meaningful psychological relationships. Author Rochel Berman, a social worker, has put together an excellent book which is reviewed in this blog. It discusses this issue and how family members can address this separation. For example, grandparenting at a distance is examined with many case examples and creative suggestions. There also is a chapter on the use of technology in long distance relationships.
